| very disappointed There are many electric kettles out there to choose from. I chose this one primarily because it is glass--I like to watch the water boiling, and it was very reasonably priced. I have now been using it for over 6 months and I still really like it: I would be willing to say that it has exceeded my expectations. The water isn't touching any plastic, the construction is quite good especially the cord. The automatic shut off feature has never failed, it comes to a rolling boil--plenty hot enough for loose leaf black teas. It even has a ring of light around the base while the water is boiling, so it is all lit up and cheerful. The only negative comment I can make is that the thin red decorative strip around the lid is lifting where it's closest to the spout. Not a functional issue at all, and I'm only mentioning it because otherwise this review might sound too good to be true. I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend this to anyone considering a new kettle... |

We changed the water filtration to a countertop no cold/hot type holder and havn't had any problems since. The filters last many months now. Also if you put water in the filtration system above the middle white ring....it will leak. Water is meant to only be stored in the lower 1/2 of the system. |

Before I installed it, I read up on it, and I'm aware of possible high filter costs, but whenever I get billed [...] for every 5 gallon bottle of water from Sparkllets, I feel like I get ripped off. Before I installed the Zero water system, water from Sparkellet read at 10-11, which is far better than Fullerton City water, which read at over 350!. I installed the system on 7/28/10, and the installation was fairly easy, washing the whole system was not very difficult either. I just tested the water, and the meter does read 0, and the water tastes great! I did over fill the reservoir this morning, and my wife was unhappy because of the mess, but it was because I put too much water in there. I thought the water I put in was enough to top off the reservoir, but it's better to leave some room so you don't make a mess like I did. We go though... |

Wished I had ordered sooner! I replaced the old nasty cover with a new one that turned out to be too stiff to push food into the disposal. I saw the disposal genie on a shopping channel and then read the reviews. Did my measuring to ensure it would fit. Only regret was that I wish I had ordered it sooner. It works great. Nothing falls into the disposal except small bits of food thru the conveniently designed top. The scraper is pliable to push the food you want into the disposal, add the genie and flip the switch. | |||||||||||||
| Did NOT Fit My Whirlaway Garbage Disposal Unit, But... Even though this item did not fit my disposal unit until after I modified it, I have to say that it is a very useful device. I leave it in the disposal opening all the time to prevent things from falling inside. It is a good safety device. I watched the video above but this Danco Disposal Genie was simply too big to fit into my Whirlaway 191 Household Garbage Disposer 1/3HP that I bought here on Amazon a few months previously. If this Disposal Genie was just a tiny bit smaller diameter, it would work. But it is impossible to fit in my Whirlaway disposal unit unmodified. I finally decided to modify it rather than return it. Very disappointing at first. Whirlaway is a very common garbage disposal unit, so check the inside diameter first. My diameter is 3.125 inches (3 1/8 inches) and it is too small for this Disposal Genie to fit unmodified. I think you need at least a 3.3 inches (3 5/16 inches)... | |||||||||||||
