I've used it for about a week and the product does a much better job of filtering the fines that slip by the side when you press down. Those fines make it into your coffee and end up being a crunchy experience during that final sip of coffee. The Grosche filter is made of such good quality that those fines never make it into your coffee. Nicely done! My reason for ranking it only four stars is that the product description on the Amazon website makes it difficult to understand what you are buying. For some reason all the descriptions focus on the volume of the carafe (4, 6 or 8 cup). The problem is that several Bodum carafes use the same size diameter press--mesh screen included--but brew different volumes of coffee.
