If you are replacing an existing filter which has the standard 1/4" NPT fittings then this filter will NOT work. Unfortunately Amazon doesn't have pictures of the end of the filter which would greatly help in preventing ordering this filter incorrectly. So now I'm stuck with paying $6 to return it. I think it's time to go to HD or Lowes where I can see it before I buy it.

This filter does a great job of eliminating the strong chlorinated flavor that was in our water. In fact, the difference is so obvious, even our kids commented. My husband knows his way around a tool box so the installation of this filter was fairly routine for him. However, those who are intimidated by the idea of making burr free cuts in a water line may want to look at a different filtering solution. The filter is fairly small and easily tucks away out of sight behind the appliance without forcing the unit further out into the room.
