In the US, prior to this "Epica 1.75 Quart" one, I have owned and used just 3 US-voltage electric kettles (that I can remember). One is a travel model that I pop in my suitcase on trips, and the other 2 were Black and Decker models that are not being made anymore. An electric kettle is not an appliance where quality, style, longevity, practicality, etc. are always *closely* commensurate with price paid. Of course, it is a general trend that the higher the price, the better the kettle, but there are some inexpensive kettles that are much better than some relatively-expensive ones. I don’t have much to compare it to, but it really saves time and is really nice to have. There is nothing about this I don’t like. I use it for making tea, hot chocolate, oatmeal, soup, and anything else that requires hot water. I prefer to use it over the stove and microwave and it works FAST. It starts heating up the second you turn it on. There’s a fill line that you can see on the side, so you know exactly how much you’re pouring. This also shuts off on its own once the water boils, which is a great safety feature. The lid locks, there’s an on indicator light, and the kettle comes with a 1-year warranty. The cord also stores inside the base, so I only keep out as much cord as I need. It’s also very sleek looking, easy to clean, and lightweight (so it’s very easy to lift off the base). I have a black and stainless steel kitchen and this is so... |
