One nice thing is the gasket mounts to the refrigerator by slipping into a channel. Some mount using screws or some other method that's more complicated. So taking the old one off and putting this one on took literally less than five minutes, and that was without knowing how to do it! To replace the gasket, you pry out the corner of the old one and just pull. The seal peels out of its channel. Once out, you put the new one on the same way the old one came off. Just insert the mounting edge into the channel on one corner and follow along the channel, pressing firmly as you go. Our problem was the old gasket wouldn't seal the door shut. We tried everything: checking for level with a framing level, checking for loose hinges, measuring the gap between the door and the refrigerator to check for warping, etc. Everything checked out fine.
