Well, we have only had this for a short amount of time but it was less than half the price that Lowe's was charging (we got it for $9.99 plus shipping charges and Lowe's was charging $50 for one). It is apparently the replacement for our old filter which was the Whirlpool 4396841P PUR Push Button Side-by-Side Refrigerator Water Filter. I couldn't even find the original filters at Lowe's which is the only place in town that sells filters for our refrigerator. It installed easily and so far seems to be doing fine. We have extremely hard water so we don't push filters too far and the kids and I can taste if the water isn't being filtered. So, it is working so far!

terrible taste I just replaced this two month old new Every Drop with the older Pur filter because our water tasted terrible with this one! Metallic/plastic taste. I stopped my subscription with Every Drop and will order Pur from Amazon!
