Everybody I ever knew with a fridge with a water dispenser always complained that the water/ice tasted bad. Now I wonder how many of them actually change the filters because our water tastes great. I change the filter when the fridge alerts me that it's time. The only thing I don't like about these filters is the price (eek!) and the actual process for changing the filter. The instructions are not clear and I don't think my most recent filters even came with instructions because they didn't come in a box -- just shrink wrapped. The first time I changed the filter in my LG fridge, I couldn't get the old filter out -- I couldn't tell if I was supposed to pull "out" or "down" or what. I was afraid I was going to break the fridge, I was pulling so hard. I finally found a video on You Tube that showed how to do it. You have to pull very firmly, once you figure out the angle.
