I received these 6 Pack Breville Replacement Charcoal WaterFilters and used it on my Breville coffee maker and my coffee has been delicious and no funny taste from hard water. My water comes from the tap not bottled water to make my coffee and if I don't use a filter then my coffee taste like chemicals. However after replacing the waterfilter with charcoal in them, coffee taste much better. Charcoal is a known filter and will filter out any impurities in the water which in turn gives a great cup of coffee. Also this will help your machine stay cleaner due to getting out the impurities in the water and the replacement filters are compatible with several of the Breville Expresso and coffee makers. Cleaner coffee taste I'm usually not one to replace filters as recommended by manufactures but I find with coffee filters, it really does make a difference in coffee taste. It also seems to reduce the amount of scale build up but that could be a placebo effect as I am not a scientist. I have city water and it tastes decent so I don't use spring or filtered water when making my coffee. The filters really do make a difference in the taste. Each pod lasts me about 2 mths and sometimes I stretch to 3 mths if I am not making coffee as often or if I forget. The charcoal pod is made of strong fiber so there are no bits that will float out of it. I received this product for free in exchange for my unbiased review and I am 100% happy.
