filters water but the taste isn't right i was hoping once again to save money on something so i bought this instead of the authentic filter for more money.. at first glance they're the same filter, installation is easy without leaks.. a lot of dark cloudy water at first comes out with the first few gallons from the carbon, but this is natural and spoken of in the directions.. now that i've had this filter installed for only two weeks, i'm noticing a change in the taste of the water that comes from it.. it's just not pure and fresh tasting like the original filter (Kenmoreclear!) that came with the fridge.. the original tasted awesome for about 5 months without change.. this generic filter just does not keep the water tasting good.. it's to the point i'm only using it for ice right now because i don't like the taste of the straight water from this filter.. i'm just not willing to save money on the taste of the water i drink daily.. i was hoping, but it didn't work this time.. glad i didn't buy the 6 pack to save more...
