These lines are a heavy gauge metal and though I'm not sure exactly what it is it's at least twice that of the lines that came with the stove. I purchased the GE/Hotpoint porcelain ones. Speaking of those that came with the stove... they were a polished aluminum that stained easily and were very difficult to clean. The last straw with my original inferior liners was when we used a large pressure cooker on the stove and the liners burned to the point that they couldn't be cleaned... they were in shades of black & blue on both sides. Since they were silver in color the stove top then looked terrible and the burning would have come from the use of any large or oversized pot. The stove was not a cheapie and I'd expect the liners to hold up better but I was wrong and since the liners had to be replaced... or covered in foil for eternity... I opted to try these and I'm glad I did. These also sit in place...
